Sincere condolences to the Mastoris Family. I have known Alex and his deceased father, Gus, since I was a 15 year-old who hung in the Windsor Diner in the late 60's. I have always known Alex as an honorable gentleman and always open to help those in genuine need. In your hands, O Lord, we humbly entrust our brothers and sisters. Dearest Patty, If I have learned anything down through the years, it’s that nothing beautiful in this world is ever really lost…… and Alex was a very beautiful person. My heart was broken today when I heard of Alex’s passing. We have been best friends for almost 64 years. I was so very lucky to have had the opportunity to speak with you today. I can only hope all of your fond memories will allow Alex to live on in your heart forever. He will ALWAYS be by your side. Hopefully you will have some inner peace knowing that you spent such wonderful times together even though they were so abruptly interrupted. Alex and I grew up as neighbors since the early 1950’s when his family followed mine into Sunset Village in Burlington. We were best friends from day one. Oh those fond memories I have. My parents would eat dinner every night at about 5:30 and when Mr. Mastoris came home from the dinner around 7:00 or 7:30 I would eat dinner again with Alex and his family. Ahhhhhh the Greek food. WOW!!! We played baseball & basketball together forever. We ultimately graduated High School together in 1964 and then began to go our separate ways. Alex on to college and be on to a job. Life got in the way but those Class reunions would bring us back together for a wonderful evenings of sharing those growing up in BUR’R’L’T’N’N war stories. On behalf of my wife and I and all of his Classmates from the Class of 1964 please accept our most sincere condolences. You and all of Alex’s family and friends are in our prayers. I hope we can all remember that there are no dress rehearsals in this life and in Alex’s memory, live each day to its fullest. Richard Gober

Sorry for your loss Patti. My only regret is that I didn't meet Alex as much as I would have liked to. The few times that I did meet him I could see how happy he made you and how much you loved being with him. I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the viewing.
